ABOUT THIS RIDE

What Leviathan is

Opened in 2012, Leviathan is Canada’s Wonderland’s 300-foot class coaster. Published speed is 148 km/h over about 1,672 metres of track. It is a hyper/giga out-and-back with overbanked turns, in the same family as Fury 325 and Millennium Force rather than an inversion machine.

Behemoth, the park’s 2008 hyper, is the older sibling. Leviathan is taller and faster. Yukon Striker is the dive coaster if you want a hold-and-drop instead of a giga lift.

Height is 120 cm, which is lower than many giga coasters. Confirm the current chart; parks do update rules.

What to expect

A long cable-less chain lift (B&M chain), a huge first drop, then speed through hills and overbanks. No inversions.

Back row is the stronger drop. Front row is the view over Vaughan.
