Ride height checker

What the checker is actually counting

The widget above only sees rides that already have a minimumHeight figure on this site. That is 101 of 1588 attractions in the directory. The rest are still on park pages; they are just not a height question yet.

Enter centimetres. The list marks a ride as a match when the typed height is greater than or equal to that ride’s listed minimum. One centimetre under is a miss. The checker does not guess companion rules, “with an adult” exceptions, or health restrictions.

• Measure in socks, against a proper mark, the night before — not a door-frame guess at the hotel.
• If someone is within a couple of centimetres of a band, assume they may be turned away and pick a fallback in the same land.
• The sign at the entrance is the rule that counts, not this page.

Height bands currently listed

Parks do not share one height language. A 120 cm band at Alton Towers is a real coaster block. A 130 cm listing at Thorpe Park is the Hyperia exception in an otherwise 140 cm line-up. The table below is every distinct minimum in the index, with how many rides sit on it.

The highest listed minima in this index

These are not “the scariest rides”. They are the listings whose published minimum is at the top of the range we currently hold. Most of the 140 cm row is inversion and launch hardware. Use the ride page for the on-ride video before you treat any of them as a must-do.

Parks with the most listed height rules

If you are planning a mixed-height group, start with a park that actually publishes several bands on this site, not a park with one famous coaster and a blank for everything else.
