ABOUT THIS RIDE

What X2 is

Opened in 2002 as X and later upgraded to X2, this is the ride Eejanaika in Japan scaled up from. Published speed is about 122 km/h. The seats rotate, so “inversions” on paper do not map 1:1 to a sit-down coaster. Flame effects on the outside are part of the show when they are operating.

Magic Mountain has more conventional coasters if this POV looks like too much. Twisted Colossus is the RMC racing hybrid; Tatsu is the flyer. X2 is the disorienting one.

Height is 122 cm (48 in). Restraints and health rules are strict. Watch the video — the rotation is not optional.

What to expect

Track plus independent seat rotation. You can be facing backwards or toward the ground while the train follows its own line. It is a short, intense circuit.

Trains are unique; capacity is not a B&M hyper. Budget wait time.
