ABOUT THIS RIDE

What Tatsu is

Bolliger & Mabillard opened Tatsu in 2006. Flying trains hang riders face-down. The layout uses the mountain: the pretzel loop is the photograph, dropping beside the slope rather than on flat land. Published speed is 100 km/h with four inversions.

Magic Mountain’s line-up is deep (X2, Twisted Colossus, West Coast Racers). Tatsu is the flyer. If looking at the ground from a flying position is a no, skip it after the POV and go to a sit-down coaster instead.

Height is 137 cm (54 in). Load is slow, as on all flyers.

What to expect

Face-down flying, a large pretzel loop, and a course that follows the terrain. Four inversions on published figures.

The pretzel loop is the intense moment. Watch it on video if you are unsure.
