ABOUT THIS RIDE

What Silver Star is

Opened in 2002, Silver Star is still the tallest ride on the Rust skyline for a lot of visitors even after newer launches arrived. Published speed is about 127 km/h over 1,620 metres of track. It is a classic hyper: big drop, airtime hills, no inversions.

The station branding is Mercedes-Benz. The ride itself is a straightforward B&M hyper — if you have ridden one of their 200-foot class hypers elsewhere, you know the feeling. The difference here is that it sits inside a park organised as European themed countries, so you walk out of a French or German area into a steel giant.

Height is 140 cm. Europa-Park’s blue fire and Voltron Nevera are the inversion / launch alternatives if Silver Star’s airtime hills are not the assignment.

What to expect

A long first drop, then a sequence of camelbacks. Trains are big; the ride is about airtime rather than laterals.

Front row is the view of the park. Back row is stronger on the hills. No seat inverts.
