ABOUT THIS RIDE

What blue fire Megacoaster is

Mack Rides opened blue fire in 2009 as its first launch coaster. Published speed is 100 km/h from a 2.5-second launch, with four inversions and a 38-metre peak. Part of the experience is a dark-ride-style indoor section before the outdoor launch.

Iceland is a different corner of the park from Silver Star. A typical Europa-Park day can treat blue fire as the launch, Silver Star as the hyper, and Voltron as the newer inversion machine.

Height is 130 cm. Heart-rate sensors in the trains are a gimmick some riders like and others ignore; they do not change the layout.

What to expect

Indoor dispatch, then a launch into a looping outdoor course through fake Icelandic rockwork. Four inversions, including a large loop.

Front row is the launch view. The indoor pre-show section is unique to this coaster in the park’s line-up.
