ABOUT THIS RIDE
What Steel Vengeance is
Opened in 2018 as a rebuild of Mean Streak, Steel Vengeance is the ride a lot of coaster fans now treat as Cedar Point’s must-do. Published speed is about 119 km/h, with four inversions and a long layout (around 1,750 metres of track). It is a hyper-hybrid, not a giga like Millennium Force next door on the skyline.
The wooden structure is still there; the track is steel. That is why the ride can throw airtime and inversions that the old Mean Streak could not. If you are deciding between this and Millennium Force, watch both POVs: Force is taller and faster in a straight-line way; Steel Vengeance is busier and more aggressive.
Height is listed at 132 cm (52 in). Cedar Point also enforces a maximum height on some trains — check the park’s own guidance if you are a taller rider.
What to expect
The first drop, ejector airtime and several inversions are packed into a layout that never really lets up. It is longer than it looks from the midway.
Front row is the view of the drop. Mid and back rows add extra airtime. There is no gentle seat on this one.
