ABOUT THIS RIDE

What The Flying Dinosaur is

Opened in 2016, The Flying Dinosaur is one of the longest flying coasters of its type. Published speed is 100 km/h with five inversions, including a pretzel loop. You load sitting up, then the train tilts you into the flying position.

It replaced a previous Jurassic attraction on that plot and is now the park’s big outdoor thrill coaster for a lot of visitors, alongside Hollywood Dream The Ride. USJ also has indoor IP attractions that are a different kind of wait.

Height is 132 cm. Flying coasters have a distinctive restraint and a “do I want to look at the ground” question that the POV answers better than a description.

What to expect

Face-down flying, a large pretzel loop, and a course that weaves through the land rather than sitting on a bare pad. Five inversions on published figures.

Load is slower than a sit-down coaster. Budget queue time accordingly.
