What opened, and who can ride it
Alton Towers opened Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies! on 28 March 2026, the first Bluey coaster anywhere. It sits in CBeebies Land. The official restriction is 0.9 m to ride. Guests between 0.9 m and 1.1 m must ride with an adult aged 16 or over. Under 90 cm is a no, even with a parent.
That is a junior Zierer-style family coaster, not a hidden thrill. Rita and Janet — Bluey and Bingo in granny mode — are the on-ride gag. Access is included with park entry. Confirm the live rule on Alton’s own restriction pages; parks do change accompanied-by ages.

Why 90 cm is the story, not the IP
This index already splits Alton’s major coasters into three listed bands: 140 cm for the inversion and drop machines, 120 cm for the Dark Forest block, and 90 cm for the youngest listed coaster credit. Bluey lands in that bottom band, with an accompanied window up to 110 cm. It does not unlock Nemesis, The Smiler, Oblivion, Rita or Wicker Man. It gives the four- and five-year-olds a real train ride in a park that used to send them to CBeebies flats while everyone else disappeared into Forbidden Valley.
If you are planning a mixed-height Alton day, this is the new split: people who meet 140 cm still get the headline steel. People at 120 cm still have a coaster set. People who only meet 90 cm now have a named coaster instead of a holding pattern. Split the group on purpose. Do not drag a 95 cm child to The Smiler queue “just to look”.
Where it sits in CBeebies Land
The ride is a CBeebies Land attraction, not a Forbidden Valley one. Expect the queue to be a preschool peak — late morning, dry weekends, school holidays — rather than a thrill-seeker spike. It will not cannibalise Wicker Man. It will cannibalise patience if you try to do Bluey and Nemesis with the same four people in the same hour.
This directory has not added a dedicated Bluey ride page yet. The Alton Towers park page and the height guide are the useful URLs on this site until that listing exists. For the live restriction, Alton’s support article is the source we used.
