What is actually new
Disney opened Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets on 26 May 2026. Guests still sit in a limo, still launch into an indoor inversion layout, and still finish a short Hollywood night-drive. The change is the show: G-Force Records now belongs to Muppet Theatre owner J.P. Grosse, with Scooter running the studio. Disney says the Scooter figure is its first Audio-Animatronic of the character, built from motion capture.
The courtyard is the tell from the street. The guitar marquee got a psychedelic paint job, with a gold piano key as a nod to Dr. Teeth. The queue leans on “Can You Picture That?” before the launch. That is a different emotional register from the Aerosmith backstage-pass version, and it is why families who skipped the old ride are looking at it again.

The soundtrack is the retheme
Disney listed five onboard tracks, all Electric Mayhem covers or collabs: “Song 2”; “Born To Be Wild” with Camilla the Chicken; “Love Rollercoaster” with Jennifer Hudson and Questlove; “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” with Def Leppard; and “Walking on Sunshine” with Kelly Clarkson. You will not hear all five in one ride. The car picks a track.
That is the same trick the Aerosmith version used. The difference is tone. This is a gag machine that still launches hard. If someone in the group hated the old ride because it was loud and dark, this will still be loud and dark. If they hated it because it was a 1990s rock pastiche, this is the version to retry.
How it sits on a Studios day
The previous Aerosmith listing in this space sat at 48 in / 122 cm. Disney’s launch notes did not advertise a new minimum. Confirm the sign at the entrance; do not use this paragraph as the rule. Slinky Dog Dash remains the family launched coaster in the park at 97 cm in this index, which is the actual split for a mixed-height Hollywood Studios day.
Tower of Terror, Rise of the Resistance and Slinky still decide whether the park is a one-day or a “we will miss something” park. The Muppets coaster is a restored indoor credit with a better courtyard, not a new land. Ride it early or late. It will share the same storm-day surge every indoor launch always has.
